Meet Our Head Chef…
Classically trained yet true to his roots, John is adept at everything from French Cuisine to hearty Devon favourites. He adds his culinary flair to everything we do, from breakfasts to fine dining, not to mention adding big flavours to our special food events, weddings and other celebrations at the hotel.
“The team here is full of passion and enthusiasm,” says J, who is excited to be one of the newest additions to the foodie-tastic Deer Park. “The setting has a wealth of both produce and inspiration, with so many of the finest, freshest ingredients.” We would definitely second that! Nothing fills us with more glee than serving-up delights that have been picked, poached and conjured from our own green and pleasant grounds.
Working closely with Estate Manager Olly Forster, John’s aim is to include fresh, top notch home-grown ingredients with every starter, main course and dessert we serve at the hotel. A tall order? Not when one peruses our Walled Garden and grounds, which have everything from local game to the apple harvest provided by our heritage orchard.
