Fishing in East Devon on the infamous River Otter offers open banks, long pools and excellent gravel shallows provided with bottom weed and harbour for trout. There are healthy flows salmon too.
The River Otter gets its name from the creatures which once thrived in the waterway and the good news is that otters are now making a comeback to the river as a result of conservation efforts. The saltmarshes and reed beds are also a great habitat for birds including redshank, reed bunting and little grebe.
