A Relaxing Fishing Break...
The Deer Park’s private 3 mile fishery on the River Otter provides the perfect place for the visiting angler to enjoy. The river is clear with open banks, long pools and excellent gravel shallows provided with bottom weed and harbour for trout. There are healthy flows salmon too.
The River Otter gets its name from the creatures which once thrived in the waterway and the good news is that otters are now making a comeback to the river as a result of conservation efforts.
The saltmarshes and reed beds are a great habitat for birds including redshank, reed bunting and little grebe.
The hotel has fishing tackle available to hire. If you require a guide for the River Otter or would like to arrange tuition we can provide this at no extra cost. Please enquire in advance if you require this service.
